Yah...unfortunately, I'll be missing the sales. Too broke, atm, due to getting the computer. I do need to take a look at Steam, tho...never been there.

Great reviews! I might have to take a look at Prison Architect now . Glad you enjoyed Banished! If I understood you correctly on the little people assigning resources while building multiple structures, you can prioritize certain areas for your workers to focus on so they don't spread everywhere doing a thousand different things. If that's not what you were referring to, then ignore me completely!! Can't wait for the next one

Can't wait for the next one That's exactly what I meant I didn't go digging through the options or anything, since I was playing with my small one and he hates it when I open the menus for too long. My laborers are definitely all over the place! xD I read in a few of the reviews that it was possible to focus on something, but was too busy trying to slow my food supply down to notice... I uh, got a bit ambitious with my production.. ha. Oops. I'm planning to go back to both reviews and add comments about the UI, menus, and ambiance/sound, among other things. Just didn't have enough time to focus on that stuff yet. I'm pretty much waiting for my whole village to burn in Banished for the time being.

Hahaha, give it time, it will eventually I remember my first harvesting season in Banished. I was like one of the friggin Starks muttering "winter is coming" under my breath every few seconds while I desperately tried to figure out why my people weren't building the fishing hut I'd told them to do forever ago. I think I'll go play banished today, lol.

I really love your game reviews, I really do, but if you don't stop, my already way busted budget is going to be horrendous (basically steam is apt to see much of my next paycheck! LOL) But really, keep them coming! I am doing my best to find games too. It helps having people with similar taste reviewing too, so we don't all buy the same horrible game for instance.

(I can't believe I'm about to do this.) Goat Simulator
Developed and published by Coffee Stain Studios Release Date: April 1, 2014 (predictably) Cost on Steam: $9.99 (Summer sale price through June 22: $4.99, at 50% off) It is impossible to review this game without getting some very useful practice at taking goat selfies. This is you: Handsome devil, eh? And in this game, as you run around... being a goat... you learn a lot about what that means. For example, did you know: Goats can climb ladders Goats can ride skateboards And go on carnival rides And they grow on trees! Now that you're up to speed on amazingly wonderful goat facts, I shall tell you about the three hours I spent as a goat. First, I went down a water slide into an empty pool and went flying off a cleverly-placed trampoline. Then I decided to visit my overlords at Coffee Stain Studios Unfortunately, my coordination leaves something to be desired. I tried to say "sorry," but "maaa" was all that came out. Got myself a morning cup o'joe Saw some things which cannot be unseen Tried to take a selfie but couldn't see past my own tail Got kicked by ninja turtles Glitched off the map a few times Stole some money from this lady in an attempt to buy some hats Hovered around an anti-gravity chamber Got the heck outta dodge Lit myself on fire at a picnic Developed an ego problem And finally, played some video games at the end of a long day. "That's nice, Blue, but what....... just.... what??" I'm so glad you asked! This game is absurdly simple. You are a goat, you go around head-butting things, jumping over things, licking things, launching yourself with rockets, blowing up tankers, dragging cars around with your tongue, and generally causing chaos.... nearly all of which will get you a tidy little package of points. That is really all there is to it. It's open world, it's sandbox, you can go wherever, do whatever, and then do it all again. Controls are about as basic as it gets. You have your traditional WASD movement/space to jump, R to use whatever special ability you may have chosen or picked up along the way, E to lick things, shift to toggle walk/sprint, 1 to bleat, left click to headbutt, Q to toggle ragdoll. It attempts to simulate physics, some of which is well done (never has climbing up tall buildings only to headbutt crates, chairs, and miscellaneous construction materials off the top of it been so satisfying,) and some of which is comically outrageous, like the ability to lick just about anything and drag it along behind you. Doing certain things unlocks achievements, both on Steam and to score large numbers of points. There are little trophies for you to find, and various challenges such as races and time trials. Changing maps resets your score, and there is no save function - you start a new game every time, or on each map. And honestly, that's a beautiful thing, because sometimes instead of headbutting that giant tower of boxes, you should have jumped up them so you could get onto the roof and shoot yourself off it with a rocket. I can't tell you how many times I've kicked myself for that. All in all, it's a totally pointless game that I got lost in for hours without even testing out the different features (besides the jet pack and ball pitcher and some odd mutation that turns your tongue into a wall-climbing tool, which apparently does not play nicely with the aforementioned ball pitcher.) After running around as a goat for 3 hours, I sat back in my chair, thought to myself, I can't believe I just did that, and then signed on here directly to tell you guys all about it. I can't believe I just did that.
Community and Communication
There have been plenty of announcements for the game since its release, every few months at least. Their trailers, news, and communications are just about guaranteed to make you crack a smile at the very least. Don't watch or read anything Goat Simulator related while drinking beverages. It may not end well. But what I take away from it is that the developers have a good sense of humor, and have, strangely, put an awful lot of effort and love into this title. I'm not sure what sort of people it takes to work up a passion over a game like this, but I am glad it happened, even though I'll never admit to it. Shhh. The Steam Workshop contains 31 maps and 55 mutators at the present time. Some of the most popular include "Princess Goat," "Sticky Goat," and "The Goat Shack." I really have no idea what that means, and I'm not sure I want to. This review does not even touch the free DLC, Goat Simulator MMO, which I have yet to try - and I don't have the Goat Simulator Z DLC, which apparently has something (or everything) to do with zombies. You can attempt to ask me questions about this title, which I may or may not be able to answer, due to the entire thing being the sort of experience I never expected to have, since I'm not an illicit substance user, and the whole thing seems to have been done in various degrees of "you've got to be kidding me." But if you manage to think of any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. This will undoubtedly get updated in the semi-near future with more about... uhm... all that stuff I didn't get to yet, because I was having too much fun being a goat.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! You really should have put this disclaimer "Don't watch or read anything Goat Simulator related while drinking beverages. It may not end well." BEFORE your review!! I am trying to clean Mountain Dew off my desk, but I can't because I am laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes! That was hysterical! I am so buying this....and I don't even know why

[PP] blueasbutterfly Banished sounds more interesting to me than the first. I like the photos you posted and makes me more tempted to buy. I'm putting it on my list. Look forward to more. I think you are doing a great job with the reviews. So...tell me why I always forget to check for 'next page'. OMG...that is hilarious!! On the list too. I can hear my hubby now, when I tell him I want Goat Simulator. He's a gamer, but that might be a bit weird to him.

Thanks <3 you don't have to worry about missing anything or even reading things you're not interested in, I'll be keeping a list at the top of the OP with direct links to the reviews themselves, and showing when it was last updated. I'll also be editing the title to reflect reviews being added so if I add something that makes you go "ew, no" you can just pass on it. I do tend to write a lot, trying to be thorough, so no pressure to read all of it. And hey, you go right out there and get yourself some goat simulator action, it is totally weird, but it's liberating! xD "I really want goat simulator." "That's totally weird." "And?" I should post more of my outtake photos

OMG, I am laughing so hard. I was under the impression that Goat Simulator was something of a joke, and apparently it is - but one that's so strange that it's funny! I might have to go buy that before the sale is over, because I'm not sure that I'd want to pay more than $5 for it, though. I already have Banished but haven't spent any time figuring it out yet. Not sure I'm interested in Prison Architect. I've heard of that one from some people on MTS but I don't know. Right now I think I have plenty of games anyway, some I've never even played yet! Thanks for the reviews, I'm enjoying them thoroughly!

Ok didn't know where to put this so I am invading Blues thread Game Dev Tycoon my review... Ok I spent a good 5 hours playing this, and had to force myself to stop to come right this review. I actually had no idea how much time had past. So yes it is addictive and fun. About the game. You start off in your garage being the only person in your company (which you name). Like so. You only have a couple of choices in what game to make at first. My first game? A life Simulator You get a review of your game after it is finished. You can also get a detailed report...well somewhat, of what worked right, and what didn't. My first review...I love my title As you make games you get research points, used for....Research! Big surprise there huh? You can research different kinds of games, graphics, sound, pretty much everything and anything. After a bit you can research making your own engines. You decide what goes into them (after researching the stuff). Eventually you can make bigger games (I am up to medium). After you earned enough money in your garage, you can move to a real office. You can wait as long as you want to move, and you should wait for a bit, as the office is more expensive to upkeep. You can also hire people to work for you, to make better games. Completely ironic, but my best scoring game to date... Lolz! I love irony as much as the next guy, but really? You can't just keep making the same games, because people will get sick of it. lol You acquire or loose fans as you go along, depending on the game released. There really isn't anything hard about it per say, but making a good game is pretty difficult. You have to make sure to keep up with your research, make the right choices while building the game, such as should you focus more on engine, world graphics, or sound effects ect. and make upgraded engines. Who would have thunk it huh? I did have 1 game reach over a million in sales It was a Apocalypse Adventure game, my 2nd...I have a bad habit with sequels All and all a very simple game to learn, pretty hard to master, and a lot of fun to play. My reviews are not as good as Blues, but there really isn't a whole lot to this game...you make games

You reviewed it just fine, @jules
It sounds pretty interesting!
Do you have to take care of their needs?

You reviewed it just fine, @jules It sounds pretty interesting! Do you have to take care of their needs? No they don't have any needs. Once in a while you have to send your staff on vacation if they start to get burned out, but that is it. And they don't stay gone very long...actually they don't leave, they just become transparent so you cant click on them.
